Connectors & Integrations
Connectors let Claude read from and write to external services directly within a conversation. Instead of copy-pasting content between tools, Claude can access your GitHub repo, search your Slack channels, read a Google Doc, or create a Jira ticket — all without leaving the chat.
Connectors launched on June 3, 2025 and had grown to 50+ curated integrations by early 2026. New connectors are added weekly.
How to Connect
Go to Settings → Connectors in Claude.ai. Most services use one-click OAuth — you authenticate once and Claude gets read/write access to that service within the permissions you grant. Connections are per-account, not per-conversation.
You can also add a custom connector by pasting your own MCP server URL. This lets Claude connect to internal tools, databases, or APIs that aren't in the directory.

Connectors vs MCP
Claude.ai Connectors are the end-user interface — one-click OAuth connections in the chat UI. Under the hood they're built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), but you don't see or configure MCP directly.
If you're building custom integrations (e.g. connecting Claude Code to your internal API), you'd build an MCP server and either self-host it or register it as a custom connector. For Claude.ai chat-based use, the Connectors directory is the right starting point.
